If you've spent any time looking through North & Noble Co., you've probably seen the words "Find Your North." But I don't think I've fully explained where those words came from or why they mean so much to me.Β
As I've said, North & Noble Co was born from some of the hardest chapters of my life.
I learned pretty young that life doesn't always give you the people, circumstances, or protection you think it should. My childhood shaped me in ways I'm still understanding as an adult. There were wounds I carried quietly for years, things I learned to survive before I ever learned how to heal, and eventually became extremely good at being the person who could handle everything.Β
So I did.Β
Until life gave me things I couldn't simply "handle."
My health changed my entire perspective on what it means to live. I became a brain tumor survivor, twice. I went through emergency brain surgery in February of 2021, completed radiation in October of 2025, I deal with severe hearing loss, and a body that no longer always works the way I want it to. I've had to grieve versions of myself while simultaneously learning how grateful I am to still be here. More importantly, grateful that I still have the will-power to get up and show up for my son.Β
Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I realized something: I didn't want everything I had survived to only be something that hurt me. I wanted it to mean something, because the truth is, you absolutely can turn pain into purpose.Β
There have been seasons of my life where finding direction felt impossible. Seasons where I was simply trying to make it through the day while still showing up as a mother and making sure my son never had to carry the weight of the storms happening around him.Β
There were times I couldn't see what was ahead of me... But I kept going.
And eventually, I stopped asking, "Why did all of this happen to me?" and started asking, "What can I do with everything it taught me?"
That's where the heart behind Find Your North really began. Your "North" isn't a perfect life. It isn't having everything figured out. Sometimes finding your North is simply finding one reason to keep moving when you feel completely lost.Β
For me, it became my purpose.
I have always had a heart for people who are hurting, especially the ones who hurt silently. The people who still go to work, raise their children, laugh with their friends, and show up for everyone else while privately fighting battles nobody knows about.Β
Because I've been that person and to some extent, I still am.Β
North & Noble Co. became my way of turning those experiences into something that could reach beyond me.Β
Yes, this is a business. I sell clothing, accessories, electronics, gifts and products I'm proud of. For the most part everything on my website is inspirational, motivational, and offers a quiet reminder that your story can go onto purpose as well. But my dream has never stopped at building an online store.Β
I want to build a community.Β
A place where someone can read something and think, "Someone gets it." A brand that starts conversations about mental health, survival, fight or flight, healing and finding yourself again. And as this business grows, my goal is for that growth to eventually allow me to give back to organizations supporting mental health, domestic violence survivors, and those affected by cancer (eventually autoimmune disorders and autism awareness).
I can't rewrite my childhood. I can't erase the things I've lost. I can't change what my body has endured. But I can decide what I build from the pieces of me that I thought were hopeless.Β
And maybe that's the most beautiful part of healing, realizing that the things meant to break you don't get the final say in who you become.Β
North & Noble Co is still growing, and truthfully, so am I.Β
I'm not standing on the other side pretending I have life figured out. I'm building this while I'm still healing, still learning, still finding new pieces of myself. Maybe, you are too.Β
So if you're somewhere in the middle of your own story right now, somewhere between what happened to you and who you're becoming, I pray you'll stay awhile.Β
You don't have to have the whole map.Β
Sometimes you just need somewhere to start.Β
So rather than "branding" this blog, I'm going to end this to say, I pray you "Find Your North" and know that you don't have to do it alone.Β
